residential schools were government backed “conversion” schools for native americans created by the colonial churches. the last residential school was closed in 1997, yet there are still privately owned residential schools being ran to this day. there were roughly 500 residential schools in all of northern america, while only a few dozen have been searched, nearly 10,000 unmarked graves and remains of native children have been found in total. children who spent their last days being abused and neglected for their heritage, forced to be something theyre not, some clinging to their roots til the last day. they were taken from their familys on false notions and put into the hands of wicked people.
